Maddie McClendon Night at Lee-Scott
2020 Lee-Scott Academy Graduate and Dadeville native, Maddie McClendon was honored on Thursday as the Baseball, Softball, & Soccer Teams worn Teal color Jerseys for “Maddie McClendon Night”. Maddie found out in October 2020 that she had ovarian cancer and is now being treated in Cincinnati OH.
The process from all the games on Thursday will be donated to the McClendon family. In addition to the money raised, Alabama State Trooper Helicopter flew in at half-time of the Varsity Girls soccer game to make a presentation to the McClendon family. Alabama State Troopers, ALEA Pilot Jeron Peak and Trooper Wayne Barlow flew to hand off a jersey off to Maddie’s dad. Mark McClendon, Maddie’s father, accepted the gift from the State Trooper. Maddie was able to view event on Facetime. The family said that one of the best things about the event was to see Maddie smile as she viewed her friends giving her support. Maddie was a co-head of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad as well as participating in track, and softball at Lee-Scott.
